WHAT THERAPY IS - AND ISN’T
Therapy is not about giving advice or telling you how to live.
It is also not about making difficult feelings disappear or finding quick solutions to complex problems.
Therapy offers a space to notice patterns, understand emotional responses, and become more aware of how past experience, current pressures and coping strategies interact. Over time, this can open up new ways of responding to situations that previously felt fixed or overwhelming.
A therapist does not hold answers about how your life should look. Rather, therapy helps translate experience - feelings, reactions, inner conflicts into something that can be understood and worked with, at a pace that feels manageable.
Therapy does not aim to make life permanently comfortable or happy. Life remains complex. What therapy can offer is a fuller, more grounded way of being in it - recognising anxiety as anxiety, anger as anger, sadness as sadness and gradually developing more choice in how you respond to what you feel.
HOW I WORK
In my work, therapy is about understanding what is happening and finding more workable ways to move forward. We pay attention to what keeps repeating, where things feel stuck, and how anxiety or tension show up in everyday life.
Alongside talking and reflecting, the work involves noticing experience as it unfolds - what helps you feel more settled, more present, or more able to respond rather than react. I offer different ways of working, including standard and shorter sessions, depending on what feels manageable and useful at the time. The aim is not perfect answers, but practical shifts that develop gradually and make life feel more enjoyable.
